Ingredients for Fish Tacos Recipe

  • Save
  • tilapia – you can use any white fish you prefer or what’s on sale. You can also sub for salmon or shrimp.
  • seasonings: flour, garlic powder, cornstarch, salt, taco seasoning, black pepper
  • taco sauce: yogurt (or sour cream), mayo, lime juice, salt, taco seasoning
  • toppings: cabbage, cilantro, tomatoes, red onion, avocado

How to Make Fish Tacos

  • Save

In a medium bowl or large plate, combine the garlic powder, salt, flour, black pepper, taco seasoning and corn starch, set aside.

For the fish taco sauce: In a small bowl add taco seasoning, pepper, mayo, lime juice and yogurt. Whisk together until combined and smooth.

Heat one tablespoon of olive oil into a nonstick skillet over medium high heat.

Dip the fish into the flour mixture and fry in the skillet for 2-3 minutes per side, until crisp and golden brown. Take care not to overcook.

Remove the fish and set aside. Rinse the pan and heat tortillas 10-15 seconds per side or in the microwave.

Fill each tortilla with fish and your favorite toppings.

Drizzle with sauce and serve.

  • 16 oz. tilapia
  • 1/2 c flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 8 corn tortillas
  • Fish Taco Sauce:
  • 1/2 c plain yogurt or sour cream
  • 1/4 c mayo
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp taco seasoning
