Taco Chili is a great way to switch up your chili recipe. It comes together in one pan and ready within 30 minutes.

Chili is a great way to double a recipe and enjoy it throughout the week. If you are feeding a crowd, this recipe is also great as it’s very budget friendly.

We simply put a twist on the traditional Chili Recipe by adding spices typically found in tacos with oregano and taco seasoning packet. If you enjoy this recipe, check out our Slow Cooker Chili Recipe and Taco Pasta in the Slow Cooker.

Variations

  • yellow onion – throw in a diced yellow onion into the taco meat.
  • green chiles – a great way to add additional flavors! Add in when you are adding in the remaining ingredients as they just need to be heated up.
  • diced tomatoes, rotel and/or corn – simply pour in canned diced or rotel tomatoes and corn that have been drained when adding the tomato sauce.

  • ground beef – you can sub out for ground turkey
  • beans – we used kindey and pinto beans, however, you can also use black or omit if your family prefers
  • tomato sauce
  • seasonings: oregano, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, taco seasoning
  • toppings: cheese, sour cream, avocado, hot sauce, tortilla chips

How to Make Taco Chili Recipe at Home

In a large saucepan, brown the beef and drain.

Next, add in the taco seasoning and water, stirring to incorporate. Allow to simmer until sauce reduces.

Pour in the beans, tomato sauce, oregano, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce and taco seasoning.

Allow to simmer on the stove on low for 20-30 minutes. The longer you let the chili simmer the more the flavors combine together.

Serve with sour cream, shredded cheese, avocado, hot sauce, sliced green onions and/or tortilla chips.

Store any leftover chili in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Simply reheat on the stove or in a microwave safe bowl.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 16 oz. can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 16 oz. can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 16 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 packet taco seasoning

Instructions

In a large saucepan, brown the beef and drain.

Next, add in the taco seasoning and water, stirring to incorporate. Allow to simmer until sauce reduces.

Pour in the beans, tomato sauce, oregano, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce and taco seasoning.
