I simply can’t wait for you to try this turkey burger recipe. The outside results in a crusty outside and juicy inside that’s packed full of flavor.

How long to cook Turkey Burgers?

If cooking in a skillet, you’ll want to cook on medium heat for 3-5 minutes per side.

You can also grill turkey burgers by grilling over a 350° degree grill for 10-12 minutes over direct heat.

No matter how you decide to cook your burgers, you can an internal temperature of 160°.

What do you add to turkey burgers to keep them together?

For my recipe we use seasonings and eggs along with shredded mozzarella cheese to keep the turkey burger together.

You can also add in breadcrumbs if you wish.

Is a turkey burger healthier than a hamburger?

Ground turkey has less saturated fat than traditional hamburgers. However, ground turkey contains more polyunsaturated fat which is a healthier type of fat.

  • garlic
  • red pepper flakes
  • red onion
  • mozzarella
  • eggs
  • basil
  • salt and pepper
  • to serve: hamburger buns, ketchup, hummus, pesto, sliced tomatoes, pickles

How to Make Turkey Burgers

In a large bowl, coming the turkey, garlic, red pepper flakes, onion, cheese, eggs, basil, salt and pepper with your hands until just combined.

Divide the mixture in half and shape one half into four burger patties.

Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Grease the skillet with cooking spray. Once hot, cook the burgers for about 4-5 minutes per side until cooked through.

Serve the burgers on buns or lettuce with your choice of toppings.

  • 1/4 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 c mozzarella, shredded
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • 1/8 c basil, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • to serve: hamburger buns, ketchup, hummus, pesto, sliced tomatoes, pickles
