How to make Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta for Dinner
Boil salted water for pasta
Combine all seasonings in a bowl.
Add 1/3 of seasoning to panko, 1/3 to flour and 1/3 directly on both sides of chicken
Set up dredge station: Flour-Egg wash-Panko
Add 2 tbsp olive oil to pan and warm over medium heat.
Fry thinly sliced chicken for 4-5mins on each side (if your slices are not super thin, I recommend cutting it in the thickest part to ensure the chicken is cooked fully)
Remove and let drain.
Add 1 tbsp butter to pan and pancetta.
Cook on medium for 3-4 mins to crisp up and then remove
Add 1 tbsp butter to pan with 1/4 cup AP flour
Whisk together and add in heavy cream, garlic powder, salt and pepper
Add in 1 cup pasta water and stir.
Add in cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
Add pasta and ham to the cheese sauce.
Slice chicken and serve on top.
Question you state “Whisk together and add in heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.” But there are no measurements for these in the recipe. Can you give me measurements? Want to try this weekend. Thanks otherwise looks great.
I’m looking forward to trying this recipe next week. Do you just eyeball the amount of heavy cream? What kind of cheese are you using?
Hi Michelle! I’m sorry about that, I just updated the ingredient list. You will slowly add in and stir 1 cup heavy cream and when it says add cheese, that’s 1.5 cups shredded parmesan.
Hi Kathleen, thank you for pointing that out! I just corrected it. It’s 1 cup heavy cream and 1.5 cups shredded cheese as you read further when it asks to add cheese.
How much garlic powder with the heavy cream, salt & pepper?
Thank you so much! I have this on my menu for next week! I am substituting diced ham for pancetta, only because of the cost. My kids won’t know the difference!
1 tsp garlic and 1/2 tsp of each salt and pepper 🙂
