Sharing is caring!

Do you love to print adorable organizing or planner printables at home, but hate having bust your budget on printer ink? Look no further! I’m going to share with you the most affordable way to print at home on a budget!

I create hundreds of free printables on my blog, and I love to print them off and put them to good use! After all, those adorable budget printables are only going to work if you get them off the computer and start using them, right?

I’ve always struggled to find a way to make printer ink affordable, and until I discovered the HP Instant Ink program it was pretty much a lost cause!

We’ve been using the HP Instant Ink subscription for well over a year now, and I think it’s by far the most affordable and smart way to print at home for any budget!

How does the HP Instant Ink program work?

You’ll Need an HP Instant Ink compatible printer

If you don’t already have a printer compatible with the HP Instant Ink program, this will be your biggest upfront cost in getting started. However, once you have your printer (this one works great), your ongoing monthly cost will be super low!

The printer is a great investment if you enjoy creating and printing at home often.

Many HP Instant Ink printers even come with a free subscription for a few months so you can try the program out for yourself.

We have an HP Envy 5055 All In One Printer, which has lasted us several years, however I don’t believe they make that model brand new anymore.

This HP Envy 6055e is affordable and comes with 6 months of the HP Instant Ink program included.

Next, You’ll Need to Choose Your HP Instant Ink Plan

You’ll choose your printing plan based on how many pages you think you’ll print each month.

We started out with the $9.99/month plan, but recently switched to the $4.99/month plan and haven’t had any overages so far!

You will get charged a fee (depending on which plan you have) if you go over, also it’s important to note that unused pages roll over to the next month, but only up to a certain amount (again depending on plan choice).

New Ink Cartridges automatically ship when you need them

The best part about the HP Instant Ink program is that the ink account syncs to your printer, and when you’re running low on ink it automatically ships to your door!

Saving money is my favorite part of this program, but I also love the time saving component!

I hope you enjoy following along, and maybe even find some inspiration along the way.
