Tips to make your White Chocolate Covered Christmas Oreos extra delicious
Using almond bark, vanilla candy coating or melting wafers will yield a shiner presentation than just using white chocolate chips. Almond bark is not made from almonds. Depending on where you are in the world the vanilla candy coating is called different things.
While you can melt the candy coating in a microwavable bowl, melting it in a glass measuring cup will hold the heat and consistency longer.
If your coating doesn’t flow off your spoon, add ½ tsp of vegetable oil or melted coconut oil to thin it out until it flows off the spoon.
How to Make White Chocolate Dipped Oreo Cookies with Christmas Sprinkles
Add candy wafers or almond bark to a glass measuring cup.
Microwave for 60 seconds.
Using a spoon, poke at the chocolate to see if it has started to melt at all, if not its okay. Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring after each time.
This should take 3-5 times. Be careful not to overheat it, it will burn.
Once you can stir the chocolate you will probably need to add a little bit of vegetable oil. Once your chocolate is fluid (runs smoothly off the spoon) you’re ready to dip!!!!!
Prior to starting make sure all of your toppings are easily accessible. Grab your sprinkles, shredded coconut, dye the coconut for a pop of color and get ready for loads of fun.
Dip the oreos mid way into the chocolate. Pull straight up (if your chocolate is too thick you may need to shake off excess, otherwise lay it on parchment paper and add toppings.
Dip your oreos midway into the chocolate. Let the oreos sit for 20-30 mins or until the candy coating set. Display and enjoy.
Note: Avoid putting in the fridge or freezer to speed up the process. The moisture will cause the colors from your sprinkles or dyed coconut to run once the cookies come back to room temperature and are sitting out.
