My blogging journey has been a long one.

I started blogging in March 2017, after battling the idea for years!

When I was pregnant with my first child, I started reading “mom blogs”.

I was hooked! I loved to read them, and loved everything from the photography to the graphic design.

Then, I realized that these women were making money with their blogs! I was really curious, and I had to know more.

I wasn’t exactly sure how they made money blogging, but in my mind it looked pretty easy.

To me, the process looked like this: talk about your baby, do a craft project with your baby, talk about your baby’s favorite outfit, and your favorite mom hacks, share on social media, and the sponsors will come running to give you money! LOL. I really thought it was that easy.

We also had A LOT of debt, and I thought that if other women were making money blogging, then I could do the same, and get our family out of debt super fast!

I started researching Pinterest for everything I could find about how to start a blog, and I launched in March 2017 as a “mom blog” called Dr. Shannon Cairns (Faith, Family, Fun, & Feet).

I’m a podiatrist, and I thought I’d blog about working mom life. What could go wrong?

I loved writing! I started writing posts, but I never had a clear direction. I definitely had no idea who my target market was, and approximately 3 people were reading my blog.

The sponsors did not come running, and I was definitely not getting the pageviews to make money on ads.

I never gave up though. I love it that much!

I absolutely love having a creative space on the internet to call my own.

I knew that I could make money blogging, but I needed a roadmap to turn my blog into a real business.

I’m good at taking action and implementing strategies, but I just wasn’t sure what to do!

I got distracted a lot. I bought every course I could find that promised quick results, but I still couldn’t seem to grow.

Two whole years in to my blogging journey, I started to hear other bloggers mention Elite Blog Academy.
