Storage

These breakfast egg sandwiches can be stored for up to 2 days in a sealed container in the fridge before they are heated.  I like to wrap mine tightly in saran wrap and place it in a sealed bag.  To heat them up, cook in the oven as directed above or pop into the microwave until the cheese melts.

These egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches can also be prepared ahead of time and put in the freezer.  Just wrap them in plastic wrap and put them inside of a gallon ziplock back, and it will last for 3-4 weeks.  To heat, thaw them completely in the fridge, then follow the heating directions above.

What To Serve/Pair With Your Make Ahead Freezer Breakfast

These breakfast sandwiches make a great breakfast on their own, but you can also enjoy them with fresh fruit or a yogurt parfait if you want something a little more filling.  I also enjoy mine with an iced coffee when I’m on the go.

Homemade Frozen Breakfast Sandwiches Recipe FAQs

Can I use different types of breakfast meat?

Sure, feel free to use bacon, ham, or even turkey sausage.  Let me know how yours turns out!

Can I use a bagel instead of an English muffin?

Yes, you can use another type of bread, but I particularly like the way that the cheese melts into the English muffin.

Will my sandwich be soggy if I make it ahead of time?

Nope! That’s one of my favorite parts of this sandwich. There’s nothing that has enough liquid in it to make the bread soggy when it’s made ahead.
