Baking during the holidays is one of our favorite things to do! The kids love to help, it keeps the house warm, and baked treats always go great with our hot cocoa!

We also love making recipes like this cute Grinch Cookie Dip, and popping in a favorite holiday movie as a way to relax and enjoy family time during the busy holiday season!

You only need 4 ingredients to make these adorable Christmas M&M cookies, and your whole family will love them! These are no fuss, easy to make, and will be a family favorite this Christmas!

Christmas M&M Cookies Ideas

Use these ideas for your Christmas cookies this year:

  • Nuts. Add in nuts if you like them in your chocolate chip cookies!
  • Gift. This would make a great frugal Christmas gift idea too! Tie the cookie mix and Christmas M&Ms together with a bow!
  • M&Ms. Of course you can use regular M&Ms to make these instead of Christmas ones!

How to make Christmas M&M Cookies

Step 1. Gather your ingredients!

You will need:

  • Package of Betty Crocker Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix
  • 2/3 Cup Christmas M&Ms
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1/2 Cup Butter or Margarine Softened (unstalted)

Step 2. Mix the cookie mix, egg, and butter together until they form a soft dough. It will be sticky.

Step 3. Add in the M&Ms. We used 2/3 cup, but you could use 1/2 cup if you wanted less!

Step 4. Spoon your dough onto your cookie sheet. Leave 1-2″ of space between each cookie dough ball. These roll better if you chill the dough for 30 minutes, but you can use a cookie scoop if you’re in a rush!

Use a Tablespoon for small cookies, and 3 Tablespoons for large cookies.

  • Save

Step 5. Bake your cookies at 350 degrees (325 for non-aluminum pans) for 13-17 minutes (or 17-23 minutes for larger cookies.)

  • Save

When your cookies are done baking, let them cool on the pan for 5 minutes, before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool for another ten minutes before eating.

These are also an excellent cookie exchange recipe! We make these every year and everyone always loves them! They’re not fancy, but they’re delicious!

Christmas M&M Cookies Tips:

  • Chill. Chill your dough for 30 minutes before baking to keep your M&Ms looking prettier!
  • Parchment Paper. We used parchment paper when baking these to keep them from sticking.
  • Servings. This Christmas M&M cookies recipe should make 12-24 cookies, depending on size!
  • Storage. Store in a cool, dry place, covered, for up to a week.
