Steps to Make Chocolate Chip Cupcakes

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F, and while you’re waiting for it to preheat start lining your cupcake pan with cupcake liners.

Then prepare the box cake mix according to directions (or you can use a from scratch cake recipe that you enjoy).

Add 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips to the batter. Stir until combined and then fill each cupcake liner 1/2 full of batter.

You’re ready to bake for 12-15 minutes, or until you can insert a toothpick and it comes out clean. Remove cupcakes from the oven, and set on a cooling rack. Make sure you cool cupcakes completely before frosting.

Once the cupcakes are cool, snip off the end of a pastry bag or ziplock bag and insert the frosting tip.

Place the bag into a large cup, and fold the top of the bag over the rim of the cup. Now you’re ready to fill with frosting. Push the frosting down towards the bottom of the bag, and remove as much air as you can.

Tips to frost Cupcakes

Put your frosting bag over the middle of a cupcake, and guide using one hand, squeeze the frosting bag with the other hand; start in the middle of the cupcake, swirl to the outer edge, around the cupcake, and back into the middle.

Finally, top off your beautifully frosted cupcakes with mini chocolate chips.

Get ready to serve to friends and family, and enjoy this adorable box cake mix chocolate chip cupcake recipe, without the hassle of baking from scratch.
