How can you thicken white chicken chili?
If you’d like a thicker chili, you can add cornmeal, cornstarch or masa to the liquid. You will need to allow the thickener to absorb the liquid for about 20-30 minutes for it to thicken.
Why is it called white chili?
White chili is made with white meats: ground turkey, pork or chicken. Then white beans are added as well as the chicken broth. This results in the “white chili” portion with flavors being added in that keep the base of the color white.

This looks amazing! My husband and I like a little heat but we have very little kids (like high chair age) who wonβt touch anything vaguely spicy. Are the green chilies more for flavor or heat?
Author
They are more for flavor and not too spicy at all, but I sometimes will leave them out because my husband can be really sensitive about anything spicy! He says he can tell, but I’m not so sure LOL.
