Is Chili better in a slow cooker?
In my personal opinion, I love chili that’s been slow cooked. The flavors mix together, the hamburger tenderizes and not to mention, guests can serve themselves all day long.
Ingredients Needed for Slow Cooker Chili
- lean ground beef – you can also do Italian sausage or ground turkey or a combination.
- onion
- garlic
- spices: cumin powder, chili powder, curry powder, dried oregano, salt and pepper
- black beans – can also use kidney or pinto beans
- diced tomatoes – use Rotel tomatoes for additional flavor.
- tomato sauce
How long can you leave chili in a slow cooker?
Once the chili has heated through, you can leave the chili in the slow cooker for 4-6 hours on warm.
Is chili better the longer it cooks?
The longer chili simmers the flavors begin to come together. I personally think chili is best reheated the next day as the flavors are plentiful.
