CBD is amazing when it comes to pain management, and offers a great alternative to over the counter or prescription pain medications like opioids.

While more research is needed to verify the pain-relieving benefits and have products become FDA approved, people who have used cannabidiol swear by its pain-relieving abilities for centuries.

In fact, studies have shown that CBD is effective at helping manage both everyday aches and pains as well as chronic pain, such as those stemming from cancer treatments, fibromyalgia, neuropathic, migraines, and possibly arthritis (source).

Researchers can agree that CBD has a lot of potential when it comes to pain management, which is promising and gives us hope of the FDA one day approving of such treatments. Until then, we can just DIY (do-it-yourself)!

How To Use CBD Oil Salve and Balm for Pain Management

1 cup of coconut oil

1-ounce beeswax

3000mg CBD oil

Your favorite essential oils (lavender is a great one to start with – but I also like lemon)

In a double boiler, heat oil and beeswax until melted and stirring thoroughly

Add the CBD oil and simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally until combined. Do not let the mixture overheat

Remove from heat and let your salve cool (but don’t let it set solid!) and then add a few drops of your favorite essential oil(s)

Pour the salve into a glass storage container (glass jars with a tight-fitting lid work best) and allow to cool and set completely before use
