Once you make this Chicken Burrito Bowl, you will never get take out ever again! This is a Chipotle style bowl that can be topped with your families favorite toppings!

This Chipotle-inspired chicken bowl is made with all your families favorite toppings. I find it easiest to lay out the ingredients as a buffet style and allow each family member to create their very own bowl.

Ingredients for Burrito Bowl with Chicken

  • chicken breasts
  • black beans
  • rice – use white, brown rice or even quinoa

Toppings: shredded cheese, lettuce, pico, salsa, avocado, sour cream, red onion, fresh cilantro, limes, corn, fajita veggies

How to Make Chicken Burrito Bowls

Start by boiling your chicken in a pot of water. You can also make Shredded Chicken in the Crock Pot!

While the chicken is cooking, prepare your rice or quinoa according to the directions on the package and preparing other toppings such as corn, black beans, etc.

Once the chicken has cooked, you can season it with fajita mix or homemade taco seasoning.

Build out your bowl by starting with your grain (rice or quinoa), layer with chicken and your favorite ingredients.

How to Store Leftovers

If you happen to have leftovers, these chicken bowls make for a easy lunch the following day. You can build your own bowl, but, be sure to only include ingredients that are going to heat well together. You don’t want to heat the cheese or sour cream, guacamole, etc.

Store in an air tight container and heat up in the microwave.
